Social Media as a Catalyser for Cross National Learning (SoMeCat)
Description
Social Media is currently one of the hot research areas.
The EU project SoMeCat, a joint project with partners in Russia, Turkey and Germany focuses on two major areas:
- In how far can social media be utilised in teaching, learning and research in Higher Education? To which extent are the social media already used in the afore mentioned areas?
- Do Diaspora groups use social media? If so, which groups use social media for which purposes?
By synthesising these two strands of research new perspectives for utilising social media at higher education institutes should be unravelled.
Recommendations targeting decision makers in HE institutions are one outcome of the project.
