DIZH Visits CAI to Learn About Physical AI Education
Dr. Jorge Peña Queralta presented ZHAW’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CAI) to the DIZH Coordination Committee. The exchange focused on Physical AI in education and on defining Physical AI literacy across schools, vocational training, and higher education.
The ZHAW Centre for Artificial Intelligence hosted a visit by the DIZH Coordination Committee for Education, dedicated to Physical AI and robotics in education. A central theme of the meeting was the question of Physical AI literacy: how learners can understand the link between digital decision-making and physical action in intelligent robotic systems.
Dr. Jorge Peña Queralta, Head of the Embodied Mobile Agents Group, presented the current state of Physical AI, including robots that learn from human demonstrations and emerging humanoid systems in industrial contexts. Demonstrations with the ZHAW’s humanoid robot illustrated how Physical AI concepts can be made tangible and accessible in educational settings.
The discussion highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration across educational levels, from schools and vocational training to higher education, to ensure the responsible integration of Physical AI and to foster Physical AI literacy in future generations.
