Alisa Rupenyan-Vasileva named among the Top 100+ Women in AI, Data & Robotics in Switzerland 2026

Prof. Dr. Alisa Rupenyan-Vasileva, head of the Industrial AI group at the CAI, is included in the 2026 list of the Top 100+ Women in AI, Data & Robotics in Switzerland 2026. The ETH AI Center and Greater Zurich Area compile the list to give visibility to women with demonstrable impact on the Swiss AI ecosystem.

Prof. Dr. Alisa Rupenyan-Vasileva, who holds the Rieter Endowed Professorship in Industrial AI and leads the Industrial AI group at the ZHAW Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CAI), is included in the Top 100+ Women in AI, Data & Robotics: Switzerland 2026 list in the academia category. The list was presented on 23 September 2026 at the ETH AI Center.

The list is compiled by the ETH AI Center and Greater Zurich Area and recognises researchers, founders and leaders who shape AI in Switzerland. Selection is based on nominations and requires demonstrable impact in at least one of four dimensions: business impact, societal impact in Switzerland, innovation, and academic advancement. The 2026 edition is the second one and extends the scope to robotics.

Her group develops learning-based optimisation and control methods for industrial systems, with applications in additive manufacturing, shop floor processes, robotics and motion systems.
