Field of expertise

This field of expertise is about people as actors in complex systems. This includes the scientific investigation of the interaction between people and technology against the background of automation and digitization.

Also of interest are digital applications that make it possible to promote human performance in training and on the job. Central to this are communication possibilities between people and technology.

Furthermore, this field of expertise deals with communication in safety-critical environments, for example radiotelephony communication between pilots and air traffic controllers. It thus comprises the three research groups Aeronautical Communication, Human Factors and Human Factors Engineering.
