The DAS program is aimed at people who are or will be active in the field of external relations and related areas. They may be employed in the private sector or at any level of public administration. The program is also suitable for representatives of industry associations and NGOs.

DAS in Applied Diplomacy participants

• first acquire the basics about the world of international relations
• gain practical skills through simulations and workshops with specialists and can then apply them in their professional context
• gain in-depth knowledge of Swiss foreign policy, the importance of information security, and the impact of digitalization on administration, diplomacy, and internationally active companies
• attend networking events in Switzerland and abroad to exchange ideas directly with experts.

The DAS program is characterized by methodological diversity. In addition to lectures, exercises, and work on real-world case studies, e-learning, and simulations, great importance is attached to the continuous scrutiny of world events and their interpretation. Admission requirements for applicants with a university degree:

Admission to the DAS program requires:

• A degree (diploma, licentiate, Bachelor's or Master's degree) from a state-recognized university or one of the predecessor schools.
• At least two years of professional experience at the time of enrollment.

Admission requirements for professionals without a university degree:

Admission to the DAS program requires:

• Final diploma for an educational program at a college of higher education and training or federal training examination (federal diploma). In exceptional cases, applicants may be admitted if their suitability for participation can be otherwise proven.
• At least four years of professional experience at the time of application and completion of basic vocational training.

Admission interview:
The Head of Program reserves the right to ask for references and invite applicants to an interview.

Admissions are decided on by the Head of Program
