AI for Accessibility of Learning Materials
This project aims to develop practical use cases in close collaboration with students with disabilities, using multimodal AI to remove barriers from educational materials.
Description
The use of generative artificial intelligence, particularly powerful multimodal models, can make educational media accessible in ways previously unimaginable. However, current developments are often driven more by technical possibilities than by the actual needs of the users.
This project aims to develop practical use cases in close collaboration with potential users, using multimodal AI to break down barriers. It builds on the decades of experience of the project partners in the barrier-free adaptation of electronic media and integrates insights from recent experiments on the use of AI in this field.
Our goal is to present these innovations in a way that they can be widely used, with user-centered solutions made available free of charge. In this way, they can also be adopted by other universities in Switzerland and internationally.
