Student Exchange Program ENM
Cultural awareness is an ever evolving learning process.
The European Nursing Module (ENM) Network connects nursing schools across Europe and offers students the chance to broaden their horizons through short-term exchanges. Participating students can experience nursing practice, culture and healthcare delivery in another European country. We welcome Bachelor of Nursing students in the second half of their programme.
Exploring Culture in Healthcare
This module is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of culture and its multifaceted influence on professional nursing practice in a global context. Aims of the module include:
- to develop the students’ understanding of the concept of culture,
- to develop the students’ understanding of European and professional cultural issues, which will promote and enhance healthcare by individuals practising in a range of settings,
- to enable students to recognise the in-ternational dimension of professional nursing knowledge and healthcare,
- to develop the students’ awareness, understanding and acceptance of cultural differences,
- to develop the students’ awareness of, and respect for clients’ individual cultures,
- to develop the students’ understanding of the influence of historical, philosophical, ethical, economic, political and pro-fessional factors on their own and other professional cultures,
- to develop the students’ awareness of professional culture and role, and an increasing awareness of their own cultural identity.
