TAILOR Scholarship for Mohammadreza Amirian, PhD Student at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence
Mohammadreza Amirian, researcher in the CAI’s Computer Vision, Perception and Cognition Group and doctoral student co-supervised by Friedhelm Schwenker of Ulm University and Thilo Stadelmann of the ZHAW, secured the first TAILOR Connectivity Fund project with his proposal on “Affine-transform equivariant transformers for trustworthy and sample efficient computer vision”. The grant will allow him to visit the EPFL MLO Lab of Martin Jaggi, a pioneer of applications of transformer networks in computer vision, for three months to research trustworthy and robust vision models using transformers and strengthen long-term collaboration between the two groups.
The TAILOR network is funded by the EU Horizon 2020 programme under the ICT-48 call and consists of 54 research institutions as partners and 50 additional TAILOR network members, of with the ZHAW is one. TAILOR supports researchers with a connectivity fund for collaborations in cutting edge research on trustworthy AI as a part of the third pillar of European Roadmap for Human-Centered AI.
