Description

The degree of digitalisation in the facility management (FM) and real estate (RE) sector is still relatively low. However, there are significant potential opportunities that digital transformation (DT) offers FM and RE. The complexity of understanding DT and its many interrelated factors present a considerable challenge for decision-makers, and many FM and RE organisations have no clear strategy.

The research project FM4.0 aims at developing a digital maturity framework and methodology to integrate and / or align FM and RE within the DT process of the core business. Research focusses on understanding different approaches and models of DT, as well as determining and developing the dimensions and criteria of the framework. A modular approach is explored that allows application for a variety of organisations with different organisational configurations and operating in different industries.
