Description
With focus on high-value-added applications (Food, Pharma,
Cosmetics), this project aims at establishing resource-efficient
reactor technology for the cultivation of microalgae.
Photobioreactors, in current close-system design, are not fully
optimized with regard to energy usage. Several other aspects, such
as light quality and irradiation schedule, need to be considered. A
new, patented illumination technology, is now awaiting
implementation in microalgae farming practice and industry-coupled,
hybrid cultivation facilities.
The a set of functional prototypes up to pilot scale are to be
developed in course of this project.
