Description
The simulation and optimization is predestined for high
performance computing (HPC). Many computing operations are
necessary and huge amounts of data are being generated. The
requirements have also increased in recent years as the models
become more complex. In addition, simulation-based optimization
needs a large number of simulation runs, which should be
parallelized if possible.
However, the available approaches and products can only be used to
a limited extent for these purposes, as there are restrictions on
licenses and compatibility. As part of this project, we will
explore and create the prerequisites and methods to use simulation
and optimization on HPC. This in turn enables innovative research
collaborations with industry.
The start-up project is aimed at research and consolidation of
knowledge and methods and the implementation of a feasibility and
scalability study using a prototype. Methods and building blocks
for a modular architecture for simulation-based optimization using
HPC are developed and tested using the prototype.
