Description
The processing of fermentation solutions and cell homogenates is one of the most important steps in biotechnological downstream processing. Constantly optimized fermentation processes lead to dramatically higher cell densities, which can no longer be separated in an economical way with the existing standard technologies. One solution is the use of nanofiber-based, highly porous aerogel sponges as a filtration system with a higher capacity per filter surface.
