Description
To modify an existing exercise device aimed at improved cardiovascular functioning and balance to meet the demands of neuro-orthopaedic rehabilitation. The modification will allow patients with noncommunicable diseases and related limited mobility to achieve effective levels of exercise intensity in early stages of rehabilitation. The portable solution offers autonomous continuation of exercise after rehabilitation discharge. Built-in sensor-technologies will allow clinically relevant evaluation of intensity (e.g. heart rate, cadence, speed) and movement variability (tremor, consistency of arm swings) as well as post-discharge evaluation of functional progress.
