Zurich University of Applied Sciences and Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington sign collaboration agreement
Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington have signed an agreement to collaborate in the areas of data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning. This includes a joint PhD programme, research collaborations, student exchanges and joint professorships between the two universities.
As a first step, a joint PhD programme will be developed. The aim is for doctoral students to complete their research at both universities and be supervised by academic staff from both ZHAW and Victoria University of Wellington. The collaboration will later be expanded to include Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. A double degree programme for the Master of Science in Engineering in the area of Data Science is also planned.
Victoria University of Wellington was founded in 1897 and is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in New Zealand. It comprises nine faculties at three campuses in Wellington. More than 22,000 students from over 100 countries are currently enrolled.
