Young Children and Digital Technology
How do pre- and primary school children engage with digital media?
As part of the pan-European study “Young Children and Digital Technology” eight Swiss-based families were qualitatively interviewed between july and october 2016. Besides benefits and risks for the children and their development the focus of the study was laid on family dynamics in context with digital media use.
Five of eight families were interviewed again in 2018. From the follow-up study, interesting findings regarding changes in media behaviour between the two survey periods can be derived. These will be addressed in the 2019 report.
