Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes

The ZHAW offers 28 Bachelor’s and 18 Master’s degree courses. You can find detailed information about our degree courses under the links below, including instructions on how to apply. It is possible to apply for some courses online.

Bachelor’s degree programmes

With a Bachelor’s degree, you receive a high-level professional qualification. You increase your employability prospects and become highly desirable as a specialist in your field. The degree programme generally lasts three years.

In order to ensure that assessment is standardised and comparable throughout Switzerland and across Europe, students' performance is rated according to the ECTS system, in addition to receiving a grade. Students are required to gain 180 ECTS credits for a Bachelor’s degree.

Unless otherwise stated, the language of instruction is German. Certain modules are taught in English.

Master’s degree programmes

The best students are permitted to continue their studies in a Master’s degree programme in their specialist field, or to acquire additional qualifications in a related area. The programme generally lasts two years and students must have completed a Bachelor’s degree.

Students' performance is rated according to the ECTS system, in addition to receiving a grade. Students are required to gain 90 to 120 credits (depending on the programme).

Unless otherwise stated, the language of instruction is German. Certain modules are taught in English.

Students must have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree in order to progress to a Master’s programme. Other conditions may also need to be met, depending on the degree programme. Further information is available from the contact person given under each degree programme.
