Our mission

The Centre for Education, Development and Services is responsible for organising the bachelor’s and master’s social work degree courses, for networking the four areas of service and for establishing conceptual foundations. It also helps the institutes to fulfil their fourfold performance mandate. It works closely with professionals in the field as well as with other higher education institutions. It consists of the degree programmes department and three centres.

 

Degree programmes department

The degree programmes department is responsible for the design, implementation, evaluation and development of the social work degree programme, which comprises the bachelor’s and master’s degree courses.

Centre for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning

This centre focuses on lifelong learning – a sub-strategy of ZHAW – and promotes its networked implementation in collaboration with the institutes. It also supports the three areas of service “Continuing Education”, “Business services” and “Research” with regard to processes, administration and innovation.

Centre for Quality Development and Digital Campus

This centre designs, implements and develops quality assurance in cooperation with the institutes. It also promotes innovative digital offerings in all four areas of service and helps shape the digital future of social work. Another of the centre’s tasks is to oversee the admission procedure for the bachelor’s degree course.

Centre for Practical Cooperation and International Relations

This centre provides impetus for the department’s professional relations and shows how existing contacts can be strengthened. It coordinates the Practice Advisory Board, develops innovative channels for exchanging information with stakeholders, and promotes international networking and mobility among staff and students.
