Requirements and Application

Participation in an exchange program of the ZHAW School of Management and Law requires the fulfillment of some selection criteria.

Academic performance

Students must achieve a grade average in the assessment year of at least 4.00 to qualify for the exchange program. N.B. Therefore, a successfully completed assessment, together with fulfillment of the language requirements, will allow you to participate in an exchange.

Language skills

Since studying abroad requires dealing with the challenges of academic content in a foreign language, students must have the language skills necessary to study in the language of instruction at the host university before they leave Switzerland. This is generally defined by the Common European Framework as Level B2+/C1 (competent user/proficient user). This requirement can be met by presenting evidence of an equivalent, recognized qualification (TOEFL, Cambridge certificate, or similar).

Study in English

Most students who study in English at their host university should prepare themselves to study in this language. The general requirement for acceptance into the study abroad programs is an average grade of 4.00 in the English language modules (Business English 1+2 / Legal English 1+2).
