International Partners Week 2023

Inclusive Internationalization and Re-Imagining Study Abroad

Upon registration, you will be contacted by the International Partners Week team regarding the final confirmation of your participation and accommodation arrangements.

Please do not book any non-refundable travel until you receive the confirmation that your participation has been confirmed.

Funding

There will be funding available for European partner schools through the Swiss-European Mobility Program SEMP, the Swiss equivalent to the Erasmus+ for higher education.

The allowance provided by SEMP commonly includes a daily lump sum of CHF 170 to cover expenses for accommodation, meals, obtaining visas, etc. Additionally, SEMP provides an allowance that helps cover the costs of traveling to the location of the mobility activity and back (return trip). The expenses are reimbursed according to the actual costs per receipts (up to a maximum of CHF 600).

If you apply from a European Partner School, you will be contacted by our international office with more detailed information on the SEMP application process once your participation in the International Partners Week 2023 has been confirmed.

The School of Management and Law will cover the accommodation costs for non-European partner schools (please see the section on “accommodation” for more information), as well as those meals indicated in the program.

Accommodation

Official accommodation will be provided at a modern three-star hotel in Winterthur, the Hotel Wartmann. The hotel is located only a 5-minute walk from the SML main campus and the old town of Winterthur. The Zurich airport and Zurich city center are likewise only a 15-minute respectively a 25-minute train ride away.

Partners traveling under SEMP funding (European partner schools), are asked to make their own hotel reservations and payment thereof, which they can later reclaim through SEMP funding. Our international relations office will contact participants about the detailed process.

For partners from international business schools (outside of Europe), the SML will directly cover the costs for the accommodation, provided that the participants attend. Cancellations must be made more than 60 days prior to arrival by contacting Céline Goetschi, International Relations Coordinator, at celine.goetschi@zhaw.ch. In the case of a cancellation less than 60 days prior to arrival, the participants are required to cover the accommodation costs themselves.
