“Our research deals with practical issues on an extremely broad range of topics. While we are involved in programs funded by the EU and the Swiss National Science Foundation, we also conduct research with and on behalf of our partners in commerce, politics, and the community.”
Prof. Jens Lehne, Director of the Department of Business Law, Member of the ZHAW Research Commission
The economy, state, and society as a whole face significant challenges. Digital transformation, artificial intelligence, sustainability, diversity, and the creation of enterprise value are among the issues that need to be addressed by business leaders and policymakers. Our research is geared towards excellence and aims to provide solutions that address these challenges and help make the economy and society stronger and more resilient. At the same time, our research aims to be internationally relevant.
Research at the ZHAW School of Management and Law involves not only applied research on fundamental issues, but also joint research projects with partners from the private and public sectors. Important funding sources include the Swiss government and the Canton of Zurich, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Innosuisse, EU research institutions, and the private sector. We attach great importance to the advancement of young researchers within the framework of our cooperative PhD programs.
In keeping with our guiding principle, “Building Competence. Crossing Borders.”, we draw on our own resources while also operating across international and interdisciplinary boundaries. To this end, we collaborate with other university schools at ZHAW and with partner universities worldwide. The knowledge we gain in our research ventures is incorporated into our teaching and consulting activities.
According to your needs, we offer a range of different forms of collaboration: These include student projects and theses as well as consulting projects and long-term R&D projects. More extensive projects frequently receive government research funding.
