        International Cooperation

Globalization is increasing at a fast pace and competition and commercial law are gaining in significance internationally. The center therefore places great value on international relations and is committed to promoting projects outside of Switzerland. This includes, among others, cooperation with international organizations, cross-border knowledge transfer, and the exchange with specialists on a global scale. Partners of long standing include, among others, UNCTAD, UEMOA, and NYSBA.

        Current International Cooperation Projects:

        • Master of International Trade: In a joint project with Perdana University in Malaysia and the United Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the ZHAW School of Management and Law has launched a new Master's program. The Master of International Trade (MIT) started for the first time in January 2015 at Perdana University. The program focuses on international trade negotiations and on diplomacy. It is a combination of conventional knowledge transfer and a modern, practical approach to promote students' capabilities in terms of social competence, in particular negotiation and business skills. In the course of their study program, students are able to choose specific subject areas related to trade diplomacy, competition and consumer policy as elective subjects.

For further details, visit the Perdana University website.

        • Master Grande Ecole: “Philosophy of action” is at the heart of the “Master in Management” program offered by the Burgundy School of Business. Students are taught to embrace values such as responsibility, openness, and creativeness and carry them into the globalized work environment as graduates - whether they join a small or large, privately owned or public, local or global enterprise. The concept is based on three pillars: “l'international”, “l'excellence”, and “l'accompagnement”. The program is offered jointly with the Center for Competition and Commercial Law, which provides a legal component.

The start of the next program is in Autumn 2017.

        • CAS International Competition Law and Compliance: More severe prosecution of competition law violations by the authorities and through civil lawsuits is leading to higher fines and, increasingly, also to prison sentences. For responsible entrepreneurs, international competition law is therefore a high priority in their entrepreneurial activities. The certificate course is mainly aimed at business leaders in small and medium-sized companies of all sectors who have decided they need to acquire solid technical, procedural, and practical know-how concerning all aspects of competition law compliance.

The start of the next program is in July 2017.
