Prof. Patrick L. Krauskopf, PhD, Head of Center for Competition Law and Compliance
Competition law, intellectual property law and compliance form the core competencies at the Center for Competition Law and Compliance. Our experienced, highly qualified faculty contributes to the transfer of this knowledge to the professional world by offering modules for BSc, MScs, and customized continuing education programs, hosting specialist conferences, providing services, conducting research projects, and producing publications.
The lecturers and research associates affiliated with the Center for Competition Law and Compliance lecture in the degree programs of the Department of Business Law and other degree programs of the ZHAW School of Management and Law.
Our continuing education programs include a number of certificate programs (MAS, DAS, CAS) as well as shorter continuing education courses and seminars on specific aspects of competition law, intellectual property law, and compliance. Effective prevention and efficient precautions are essential tools in today's economic environment. A range of courses and seminars therefore also address the topic of compliance.
The center regularly hosts and supports both national and international conferences on aspects of compliance and competition law.
In partnership with industry associations, the Center also organizes conference seminars tailored to the needs of a specific industry. In addition, it invites DACH country representatives from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to its annual DACH Compliance Conference.
In the field of research and development, we analyze legal doctrine and jurisprudence concerning competition law, intellectual property law, commercial law, and compliance. Through various projects, we conduct scientific investigation into problems, especially those affecting the private sector, and publish our findings in various academic journals.
In a global context, we also cooperate with international organizations such as the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the New York State Bar Association to ensure a cross-border transfer of knowledge and exchanges with specialists throughout the world.
We act as consultants to all interested individuals and corporations. SMEs in particular benefit from our collective know-how. In addition, we provide a consulting service to professional associations, organizations, and large corporations on legal matters.
