International Week 2019
Responsible Management and Leadership in an ever changing world
From 8 to 10 April 2019, the ZHAW School of Management and Law (SML) held this year’s International Week on the topic of "Responsible Management and Leadership in an Ever-Changing World."
For three days, students were able to attend numerous lectures by guest lecturers from partner universities as well as presentations by company representatives. Lectures such as "Autonomous Systems and Ethics," "Privacy, Data Protection, and the Transparent Consumer," and presentations such as one by Migros on "Sustainability in Global Supply Chains" or the one by Schindler China on "Growth in Asia: Dimensions & Dynamics: How to Survive as a Swiss Corporation" dealt with aspects of responsible leadership and management.
In addition to the lectures and presentations, students were able to attend an International Fair to learn more about the SML’s partner universities and network with exchange students. In addition, they were able to conduct linked-in checks with partners such as Credit Suisse and L'Oréal, enabling them to sharpen their profile in preparation for job hunting after their studies.
The highlight of the week was the focus event on "Mindful and Responsible Leadership." At the evening event, Professor Mathias Schüz, ZHAW lecturer and professor of responsible leadership, Petra Maria Heeb, Senior Customer Engagement Executive at SAP, Gianni Valeri, Member of the Management Board at Manpower, and Enrico Bauer, Managing Director of Enrico Bauer Consulting, discussed the importance of mindfulness at an international management level and the importance of mindfulness programs in organizations.
