AIT - an instrument of the ZHAW Leading House for South Asia and Iran
The Academia Industry Training (AIT) Swiss Camp took place in Switzerland from 1-5 April 2019. AIT is an instrument of the ZHAW Leading House for South Asia and Iran which supports Switzerland's bilateral research cooperation with South Asia and Iran.
On behalf of the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), AIT promotes collaboration between the leading scientific institutions in the region. AIT was set up in cooperation with SERI, Venturelab, Swissnex India, the Department of Science and Technology in India, and the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) in India.
As part of the one-week training camp, 10 Swiss and 10 Indian participants travelled to various start-up hubs in Switzerland, attended workshops on the ongoing development of their start-ups, and had the opportunity to meet various specialists. In Zurich, the 20 entrepreneurs met up with the AIT Brazil Camp, which was hosting 20 other young entrepreneurs from Switzerland and Brazil. At the Swiss-Indian Entrepreneurship Day at ZHAW in Winterthur on 4 April 2019, participants had the opportunity to present their pitches to the Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce and learn more about public storytelling. At the end of the week, the winning teams received prize money totalling CHF 40,000, which will be invested in the further development and positioning of their respective start-ups.
