CAS Reinsurance Management

The CAS Reinsurance Management is a unique continuing education program in the (re)insurance industry. In two modules, business models and inherent challenges such as risk, capital and data management are analyzed. These topics are pre-sented and reflected in their complex and interre-lated aspects in simulation games.

Objectives and content

Target audience

The CAS is primarily aimed at specialists and managers from reinsurers, insurers and brokers.


The certificate course provides the participants with the necessary technical and managerial foundation, methods and tools to master current and future challenges in the reinsurance industry.


The CAS is modular in design. It is divided into two modules:

  • Module 1:
    Management in reinsurance (business models, leadership, business lines and clients)
  • Module 2:
    Risk and technology in reinsurance (risk management, capital, innovation, data management)


The CAS Reinsurance Management is characterized by methodological diversity. In addition to teaching discussions and presentations, it also offers participants realistic exercises and case studies. Overall, great importance is attached to the practical relevance of the content.

More details about the implementation

The classes are held as five blocks, each lasting between two and three days each (Thursday, Friday, Saturday).

Class hours are 08:30 – 10:00, 10:30 – 12:00, 13:30 – 15:00 and 15:30 – 17:00.

On Thursdays, classes are only held in the afternoon, on Saturdays, only in the morning.

The lesson blocks are offered in a hybrid format (face-to-face and online lessons).

Admission requirements

  • University degree (university, university of applied sciences) or diploma from a higher technical school or higher technical diploma
  • At least three years’ professional experience in reinsurance
  • People who do not have any of the qualifications mentioned above but do have sufficient professional experience and additional qualifications may be admitted upon review of their application documents.
