Description

Directive 2010/64/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 October 2010 establishes common minimum rules for European Union (EU) countries on the right to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedings. As a  main partner in the EU’s JUSTISIGNS research project (Legal interpreting and sign language. Equal access to courts and police for deaf people and the hard-of-hearing), the University of Applied Sciences of Special Needs Education is committed to vocational education and training (VET) in interpreting and justice. The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) contributes as an associate partner, drawing upon its long-standing expertise in the continuing education of legal and community interpreters as well as related research efforts.
