CAS International Leader & Entrepreneur

Participants are conceptualizing, evaluating and establishing a social enterprise in a growing developing market in Asia or South Africa. The next project in 2020/21 will be in Cambodia and Sri Lanka. In order to implement the specific project, they will be utilizing and developing their skills in agile project management, finance and intercultural and entrepreneurial leadership.

The CAS International Leader & Entrepreneur can be booked as a stand-alone CAS or as part of the MAS Leadership & Management or MAS Business Innovation Engineering for Financial Services.

Location: 

IAP Institut für Angewandte Psychologie and various locations in and around Zurich. Most of the modules in Switzerland are offsite at Hotel Boldern close to Männedorf (www.boldern.ch).

Objectives and content

Target audience

This course addresses leaders, project managers and change responsibles who want to commit themselves to an intercultural cooperation and seek to experience international leadership and entrepreneurship first hand.

Objectives

Participants will learn to

  • target and analyse the needs of the specific local community in the respective Asian market.
  • draw a business plan, acquire a financial investor and launch their social enterprise.
  • work with a partner team in Asia and ensure timely and resource-oriented delivery.
  • use their own team dynamics productively and inclusively to reach their goals.
  • cope with and utilize uncertainty and ambiguity for effective team work.

Content

Together with IAP coaches and our partners from the Bookbridge Foundation, participants establish a social enterprise in a growing economy in Asia or South Africa. For 2020/21, the team will work with partners in Cambodia and Sri Lanka. During their six months learning path they will work with a local partner team and strengthen their financial, entrepreneurial, and team working skills. They will build up cross-border thinking skills, deepen their understanding of the community needs and create a business plan in close cooperation with their partners abroad.

Intercultural leadership, management and entrepreneurial competencies of the participants will be reflected with the help of a coach and incorporated into the professional context of each participant. The tangible result of the program is the opening of a social enterprise during a trip to the partnering country. Long-term sustainability of this enterprise will be monitored and ensured by the Bookbridge Foundation.
