International Virtual Course 2021
Tackling Climate Change through Global Learning
Global challenges require international cooperation at eye level and innovative solution strategies. You will learn about the impacts and challenges of climate change with a focus on agro-food systems in different geographical environments and develop possible solutions in international teams. In addition to preparing from a local (Swiss) perspective, you will network with our partners from the Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados in Brazil, the University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore in India and the University of Nairobi in Kenya and collaborate using virtual tools and methods. The course has a large virtual component interspersed with national field trips.
The course contains four phases starting in June 2021. You will have to be on-site only during parts of phase 2 taking place from 26.7. to 6.8.2021. In the following two weeks you will work in your virtual team to develop new solutions for challenges associated to climate change. You will receive 4 ECTS (ZHAW students) after successful completion of the course (creditable for BSc in Environmental Engineering & MSc in Environment and Natural Resources as module «Summer School»).
