Research priorities

Our research and the services are focused in the following areas:

Nutrition surveys and epidemiology

  • Development of dietary assessment tools for specific studies (e.g. food frequency questionnaire, estimation and weighing protocols)
  • Use of various survey methods and techniques for quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Nutrition in older age groups: senior citizen panel

Composition and nutritional profile of foods 

  • Evaluation of nutritional changes along the value chain
  • Optimisation of product composition

  • Development of needs-based foods for specific target groups
  • Assessment of the suitability and handling characteristics of food for use in specific situations
