Study / Teaching at the Institute for Applied Simulation
Solid scientific foundations are the prerequisite for successful studies.
The IAS's courses
The study programmes offered by the School of Life Sciences and Facility Management include practically oriented Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Natural Resource Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food and Beverage Innovation, and Facility Management.
The Institute of Applied Simulation makes vital contributions to all these programmes and provides teaching at a consistently high level. All our lecturers are involved in research: our research methods and findings are incorporated into our teaching and ensure lessons that are both practical and unique.
Bachelor’s degree programme
We offer a broad range of taught courses and other services in the Bachelor's degree programmes, including a range of basic subjects such as mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science, and supply chain management that take place in the initial semesters. Apart from supporting students during their studies, we also offer them help before matriculation.

IAS teaching staff
Half of the IAS's employees are involved in teaching at the School of Life Sciences and Facility Management. Our lecturers and academic staff teach on all the Master's and Bachelor's degree programmes at the ZHAW in Wädenswil.
Student assignments at the IAS
As part of their Master's, Bachelor's and semester theses, our students provide answers to problems from everyday business. Practically-oriented training and guidance provided by our lecturers ensures that the results are actionable.
