New technologies in the healthcare sector

Wearables, robotics, big data – new technologies are becoming more and more pervasive in all areas and are shaping our daily life. The healthcare sector is no exception. The Research Report 2019 shows the opportunities and risks of new technologies, highlighting various projects at the School of Health Professions.

Such new technologies in the healthcare sector are the subject of the latest research report from the School of Health Professions. By highlighting various projects from the occupational therapy, midwifery, physiotherapy, health sciences and nursing research units, the report shows how new technologies are being applied in a meaningful manner, as well as the risks that they entail.

The research units are making an important contribution with these projects to fact-based discussions on the use of new technologies in the healthcare sector. As in many other areas, discussions on the opportunities and risks of technological advances are often emotional, which is why a rational approach is required so as to apply these advances in an efficient manner that benefits society.

In addition to its special focus on new technologies in the healthcare sector, the report also provides readers with an overview of the five research units and other current projects.
