The Transportation Systems degree programme deals with the entire rail- and road-based transportation system and addresses the demands of tomorrow's mobile world.
Climate change necessitates rapid advances. Transportation as one of the most significant greenhouse-gas emitters thus plays a central role in the inevitable social transformation process. When we are successful in using mobility and logistics as a driving force for more sustainable trade and ecological technologies, it will have a decisive effect on climate-friendly further development of the entire system.
Highly qualified engineers are needed to collaborate on designing and implementing complex solutions for these technological, economic and ecological challenges. Application examples include new supply concepts for rail and bus systems, the design of logistical value-added chains in industrial and service companies, and the creation of mobility services in neighbourhoods.
The Transportation Systems degree programme provides the right tools for exciting jobs in the transportation sector. You are able to choose between the specialisation in Engineering or Transportation Management, depending on your future professional specialisation.
The Bachelor programme is offered as a full-time programme with a duration of three years.
We offer the Practice-Integrated Bachelor programme for secondary-school graduates that combines internships and lectures in a four-year model.
There are further opportunities available, such as completing an exchange semester at a partner university during the Bachelor programme. International exposure as part of a study programme improves not only career prospects but also expands cultural horizons.
Internship before starting the Bachelor programme
It is beneficial to complete a one-year internship before starting the Transportation Engineering Bachelor programme. Candidates holding a school leaving certificate must provide evidence of completing a professional internship of at least 12 months before starting the study programme.

The lecturers work on interdisciplinary research and development projects in collaboration with industrial and economic partners. The results of this collaboration are directly incorporated into the teaching. In the project work and Bachelor thesis at the end of your studies, you deal independently with current topics and problems, usually in close collaboration with a company.
