Codex adopts framework for steviol glycosides: «This benefits the entire stevia industry»
International food standards body Codex Alimentarius has adopted a Framework for steviol glycosides that encompasses four different production technologies in a move that is expected to «benefit the entire stevia industry».
The new Framework sees Codex approve four technologies for stevia production: stevia leaf extract, steviol glycosides from bioconversion, steviol glycosides from fermentation and glucosylated steviol glycosides.
