Ethnography & Languages for Specific Purposes: Building the case for an in-vivo approach to professional domains and discourses
Presentation by Séverine Wozniak, president of the Groupe d’Etudes et de Recherche en Anglais de Spécialité (GERAS) and Associate Professor in English for Specific Purposes, Faculty of Economics, Université Grenoble Alpes (France)
The increasing use of ethnographic approaches in applied linguistics has led researchers to consider their role when interacting with the members of specialized communities to analyze their discourses. This presentation ponders the benefits of sustained involvement in the research setting.
