Your role

  • Development of finite element models of the interaction between cruciate ligament anchorage and bone.
  • Programming of a 6-DOF industrial robot (Kuka KR 150 R2700 EXTRA).
  • Carrying out experimental, robot-based in vitro tests to evaluate a new surgical method for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

Your profile

  • University Master's degree, ETH in the field of biomechanics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, health sciences and technology, or a related field of study.
  • Advanced knowledge in FEM modelling
  • Knowledge of matlab and CAD
  • Enthusiasm for programming robots
  • Basic knowledge of the human musculoskeletal system
  • Independent way of working

The Biomechanical Engineering Group (BME) deals with the design and testing of medical devices, especially im-plants and prostheses (Surgical Technologies), develops novel therapies and devices for patients (Rehabilitation Engineering) and is active in the field of mechanics of soft biological tissues and biomedical materials (Soft Tissue Biomechanics).

The BME group consists of a young and interdisciplinary team and is looking for you from 1.7.2023 to drive the applied research of tomorrow.
