PostDoc Position in Combustion Dynamics of Ammonia-Hydrogen Flames 80 - 100 %

Play an important part in the decarbonization of the future energy system by working on combustion dynamics aspects of alternative fuels in an international European-Japanese consortium

Your role

  • Investigation of thermoacoustic fundamentals of ammonia-hydrogen flames
  • Derivation of flame transfer functions and matrices for ammonia-hydrogen flames
  • Application of system identification and analytical modelling strategies
  • Thermoacoustic modelling of CFD and experimental setups
  • Communication of research results in international conferences and peer-reviewed publications

Your profile

  • PhD in combustion dynamics, acoustics, gas turbine combustion or control theory
  • Track record in stability analysis in a thermo-fluids context and (thermo-)acoustic modelling is an asset
  • Excellent command of the English language (oral and written), German is an asset
  • Proficient user of Matlab, Python or similar for modelling and data processing
  • Skilled in academic writing as evidenced through archival publications

This position is part of a joint collaboration project with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, University of Tokyo (Japan), IFP Energies Nouvelles, University of Orléans (France), Silesian University of Technology (Poland), and Sintef (Norway).
