Costs
The total cost of attending a course of study will comprise tuition fees, various expenses for study materials, excursions etc., plus individual living expenses. The fees set out below apply to all ZHAW students.

* These costs are applicable to all ZHAW students.
** Candidates admitted under the admissions procedure who then enroll for the next available degree programme are not required to pay this enrolment fee.
*** Students on leave pay for E-mail account, Campuscard, library service and general administration. In return, these students are exempt from paying the semester tuition fee.
The scale of charges applied by the Departments for any necessary admissions examinations (to assess levels of either general or relevant specialist education – Aufnahmeprüfung Allgemeinbildung or Aufnahmeprüfung fachliche Eignung) or suitability assessments (Eignungsabklärung) is set out in the «Verordnung über die Studiengebühren an der Zürcher Fachhochschule» (ordinance governing University of Applied Sciences student fees in the Canton of Zurich, in German only).
New student tuition fees
The new ordinance governing student tuition fees will come into effect on May 1, 2012. The Cantonal Chancellery’s press release provides additional information regarding the new ordinance and the reasons for the new fee structure (in German only).
