Our Institutes and Centres

create opportunities and entrepreneurial scope for specialised, professional expansion of research and development. Some of them are managed as profit centres and enable expertise to be developed and extended in an interdisciplinary working environment, and made available to interested partners.

Institutes and Centres are led by a professor who also has teaching responsibilities – in degree programmes and in continuing education. This ensures that state of the art knowledge is continually transferred into the ZHAW’s degree programmes and its continuing education activities. The research staff and assistants, supported by a state-of-the-art, comprehensive infrastructure, form the backbone of the Institutes and Centres.
