Zurich Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts (ZFH)
The ZHAW is a member of the Zurich Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts (ZFH). As well as the ZHAW, other members of the ZFH are the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), the Zurich University of Teacher Education (PH Zurich), as well as two private universities: the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration (HWZ).
Council of the Zurich Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts
The Council of the Zurich Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts is the highest organ of the ZFH. It is responsible for the strategic leadership of the ZFH Universities. Its functions and competences are governed by the Zurich cantonal legislation on Universities of Applied Sciences of 2 April, 2007.
The ZFH Council guidelines are clearly directed towards the demands that the future will bring. The Council consists of specialists from very varied fields and is chaired by the Head of the Department of Education of the Canton of Zurich. The term of office of its elected members is four years. Members may be re-elected twice.

The University Conference HSV
represents all members of the ZHAW internally and externally and comments on affairs concerning the ZHAW and its staff. The Council of Delegates consists of:
- representatives of the teaching staff
- representatives of the technical and administrative staff
- representatives of the research associates and assistants
- representatives of the student body VSZHAW
VSZHAW
Students are members of the ZHAW students’ association der VSZHAW. They are represented by colleagues with an advisory vote in the University Conference.
