Childcare

«Leuehöhli» caters for 29 children in two locations: Paulstrasse 23 and Habsburgstrasse 34. Both facilities are a short walk from the main station. Children’s needs are well catered for: quiet activities involving concentration, rest and sleep facilities and active games are available. There is also a play area in the small inner courtyard.

Opening times: 7 - 18, Monday to Friday
Minimum attendance: 2 whole or 3 half days per week

Governing body: The «Leuehöhli» is run by the Association of Employers’ Day-care Centres (Verein Arbeitgeberkrippen), of which the ZHAW, Credit Suisse and Sulzer were founding members. Three more day-care centres have since been added in the Zurich area. Management is the responsibility of the Familienservice.

The «Fantasia» is located at Tösstalstrasse 54, not far from the Technikumstrasse campus of the ZHAW. Its thoughtfully equipped, bright rooms are quickly converted from fairy tale worlds to “mattress landscapes” or painting and craft rooms. A park-like garden with ancient trees and a modern play area provide outdoor recreational opportunities for the children.

Governing body: The «Fantasia» is one of three day-care centres run by Familiaris Winterthur, a private independent association in accordance with the guidelines of the Swiss Day-care Centre Association (Schweizerischer Krippenverband) under the supervision of the Canton of Zurich.
