Master of Science in Business Administration or Master of Science in Facility Management at the ZHAW
Business Law students have the option of taking a Master of Science in Business Law at the ZHAW. This Master's program is offered either with a major in Marketing or with a major in Public and Non Profit Management. The degree program is part-time and lasts for four semesters. Course programs are taught partly in German and partly in English. A Bachelor in Business Law must possess at least 8 Marketing ECTS credits for the major in Marketing. However, these may also be acquired during the Master's study program. There is also the possibility to study for the Master of Science in Facility Management. This degree program is full-time for three semesters and part-time for five semesters. Course programs are taught in English, but written work may also be submitted in German.
Interdisciplinary double Master's at the ZHAW and a partner university abroad
Currently, two interdisciplinary double Master's programs with a legal and business administration double degree are offered:
- MSc in Business Administration with a Major in Marketing (ZHAW School of Management and Law) & Master de droit européen et international des affaires (Université Paris-Dauphine): The double Master's program leads to two Master's degrees in five semesters (four semesters full-time and a fifth semester part-time). The study program takes place both at the ZHAW as well as the Université Paris-Dauphine in France. A three-month internship is also an integral part of the course program. Course programs are taught in three languages (German, French, and English).
- MSc in Business Administration with a Major in Public and Nonprofit Management (ZHAW School of Management and Law) & Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Business Law (Wiesbaden Business School): The double Master's program leads to two Master's degrees in six semesters (four semesters part-time in Winterthur, fifth semester full-time in Wiesbaden, and sixth semester part-time in either Wiesbaden or in Winterthur). Course programs are taught mainly in German and partly in English. The focal points of this interdisciplinary Master's program lie in the field of finance and taxation, as well as the field of public & non-profit management.
Master of Law at a Swiss university
At present, entries to Master's study programs at Swiss universities are regulated in different ways. Transfers to the University of Lucerne or the University of Neuchâtel have been established in recent years. Graduates of the Bachelor's degree program in Business Law at the ZHAW are admitted to Master's study programs in law here, subject to appropriate transfer requirements being met. Other Swiss universities only allow admission to Master's programs on completion of a second (although shortened) Bachelor's study program.
