Degree programs

Students learn the fundamentals of health care through practice-related examples presented by lecturers at the Winterthur Institute for Health Economics.
Within the framework of the Bachelor degree program for Business Administration, the following elective modules are taught and supervised by the Winterthur Institute for Health Economics:

  • Health Economics
  • Public Health
  • Evidence-based Health Programs

In addition to this, the institute is also active in the field of basic training in economics and business management.

The ZHAW School of Management and Law (SML) Starts the New Master Program Health Economics and Healthcare Management  in Autumn 2015. The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation Authorized the New Master in June 2014.

The Institute for Health Economics of SML has customized the Ā«Master of Science in Business Administration with a Specialization in Health Economics and Healthcare ManagementĀ» on the increasing needs of the healthcare industry for more operationally and economically well trained professionals. The students get advanced skills in scientific work, carry out practise-oriented research projects and write a scientific thesis with partners healthcare. The new master guarantees the students understand processes and structures of the healthcare sector, and enables them to assess and shape it. The strong focus on practice and the growing importance of scientific and analytical skills are considered as particularly important.

The ZHAW School of Health Professions provides the Winterthur Institute for Health Economics with compulsory course modules in the context of health care, covering a wide spectrum ranging from health care politics and health economics to management in health care.
