Welcome
To create a sustainable technological and economic future for our society is a major challenge and needs orientation. An interdisciplinary team with backgrounds in humanities, natural and social sciences, as well as economics offers applied research in the fields of sustainable location development and mobility. The range includes projects, case studies, assessments, monitoring, surveys, consulting, workshops and advanced training. Furthermore, new concepts and insights are incorporated into the bachelor and master programmes at ZHAW.
Our interdisciplinary research team focuses on the following areas:
Sustainable mobility
How can future transport systems be created in a way that maintains the quality of life and strengthens economic competitiveness while minimizing the burden on human health and the environment? INE provides context knowledge and system understanding in this field, formulates future requirements regarding mobility, transportation systems and technologies and analyses the potential of promising technologies and transport concepts. Based on this research INE develops recommendations for mobility and transportation.
