Bachelor of Arts in Translation

Students enrolling in the bachelor degree programme in Translation choose one of three specialisations - Multilingual Communication, Multimodal Communication or Technical Communication. All three courses are taught at the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.

The bachelor degree programme in Translation is a university degree course directed towards practical work with languages. This provides its graduates with an entry point into a number of areas of work requiring linguistic competence and the ability to communicate effectively across national borders and in a variety of cultural settings. The curriculum will prepare you for a challenging employment market, teaching you to communicate effectively in several languages, both orally and in writing, and to transfer ideas between different languages, cultures and disciplines.

In carrying out work of this kind, you will not only be making an important contribution to today’s ever more interconnected, complex and global society, but will also be able to turn your interest in languages into a career.
