Description
The potential of additively manufactured algorithm-based structures such as the well-known TPMS triply periodic minimal surfaces is manifold. One highly interesting field of application is chemical engineering. Mathematically optimized structures allow, among other things, maximum mass and energy exchange surfaces in homogeneous fluid paths.Using the example of recently developed CO2 capture and release materials on ceramic, additively manufactured TPMS surfaces of hierarchical porosity, the great potential for chemical engineering should be demonstrated.
